This list of the best hotels in London will help you find accommodations with an unparalleled blend of sophistication and timeless elegance in a variety of London’s most desirable neighborhoods.
There are so many amazing neighborhoods to stay at in London, it would be impossible to suggest just one.
In the last five years, I have been lucky enough to stay at five different hotels in London. And I purposely chose to stay in different neighborhoods for each stay so that I could have different experiences each time ;).
I have added a few extras to this best hotels in London list that have come highly recommended to me (and one that I will be staying at for an upcoming London visit in April ;)).
My daughter stayed at The Hoxton Shoreditch during the trip we took to Paris (more info here) and London in August 2023 and loved her stay so I added that property to this list for you to check out as well ;).

Best Hotels in London
Hotel Locations on a Map
The Langham London
The Langham London Hotel is a symbol of classic luxury and Victorian elegance with lavish accommodations and a prime location in the heart of London right at the top of Regent Street.
My husband and I took a trip to London and France at Christmas time back in 2018 and stayed at this iconic hotel perfectly located to enjoy all the Christmas decorated shopping streets of London.
Rosewood London
The Rosewood London hotel captivates with its timeless elegance, blending historic charm and modern luxury seamlessly, offering guests a refined sanctuary in the heart of the vibrant Holborn neighborhood.
Again in London at Christmas time but this time with my youngest daughter in 2022, we stayed in this luxury hotel for 3 nights.
Location is a high priority when I travel as I do not want to spend any more time than necessary in taxis, buses, or metros in a city.
And Rosewood London is perfectly located within a 10 minute walk to Covent Garden and the Seven Dials.
PLUS – the ‘Family Room’ we reserved had two large beds for just the two of us – talk about sleeping heaven!
Covent Garden Hotel
Covent Garden Hotel in London is a chic and intimate retreat offering an enchanting haven in the heart of the bustling Covent Garden district.
Part of the Firmdale Hotel Group, you just can’t go wrong with any of the properties that belong in this group. With interior design from the talented Kip Kemp, every room in this hotel screams with character ;).
My youngest daughter and I stayed at Covent Garden Hotel in December 2022 and I can say with certainty that this hotel is a perfectly festive place to stay during the holiday season ;).
Number Sixteen
Number Sixteen Hotel epitomizes boutique luxury, nestled in the heart of South Kensington, with stylish interiors by Kit Kemp, lush gardens, and personalized service.
This hotel is also part of the Firmdale Hotel Group (I told you I love this group of hotels!) and is perfectly located near popular King Street in Chelsea as well as the Instagrammable Peggy Porschen cafe.
My husband and I stayed at this property on a stopover stay in London during his birthday trip to Finland in 2023 and loved the quiet side street it is located on ;).
The Ned
The Ned Hotel exudes grandeur and sophistication, set within the historic Midland Bank building from the 1920’s and features luxurious accommodations, eclectic dining, and a vibrant atmosphere.
While located in the Financial District may seem less than ideal for many, this hotel is actually within easy walking distance to many London attractions including the Tower of London, Sky Garden, Leadenhall Market, the Royal Exchange, and St Paul’s Cathedral just to name a few :).
My oldest daughter and I stayed here on our London/Paris trip in August 2023 for her 28th birthday and were immensely happy with the vibrant and festive scene the Ned Lobby had every evening we stayed there.
A secret “members only” late night lounge in the original bank vault is a very popular hangout that if you ask nicely at the front desk, you quite likely will be quietly given entrance passes to (which is an absolute must while staying here!).
Dukes London
Centrally located in the heart of Mayfair, we’ve been told by a good friend of ours who lives in London that Dukes London is a very popular accomodation for American travelers.
While we have never actually stayed here, our friend has brought us into the gorgeous lobby a couple of times :).
The Stafford Hotel
The Stafford Hotel is a timeless gem of hospitality, where classic elegance meets modern comfort, creating an intimate retreat in the heart of St. James’s.
Our London native friend met us here to start a fun Beatles tour on my husband’s birthday in March 2023 ;).

Charlotte Street Hotel is a chic urban escape, blending modern artistry with classic luxury, providing a sophisticated retreat in the heart of the vibrant Fitzrovia neighborhood.

My oldest daughter stayed here in August 2023 before meeting me in Paris and says the location of this hip hotel alone is what should put it on this best hotels in London list ;).
