Looking for easy ideas for how to style your summer shelves? If you would have asked me for shelf styling inspiration five years ago, I would have lifted up my shoulders and said – don’t ask me!
Truth be told – I don’t actually change the majority of the decor on my shelves except for at Christmas time and a tiny bit of fall decor ;0.
Nonetheless, I figure summer is the perfect time to give you a few ideas on how to style your shelves – for this season and the majority of the year ;).
But also this post is part of an amazing summer home tour collection of 28 talented bloggers coordinated by Kelly from The Tattered Pew, so I clearly needed to find some summer inspiration in my house in order to participate ;).
If you are coming here from Amy Sadler Designs blog – welcome! I hope you enjoy what you find here at Pasha is Home and decide to subscribe to my occasionally sent email list to stay up to date ;).
This is the week in my house that I normally put away all my spring flowers and pull out the patriotic decor box and summer flowers (stay tuned for that post fyi!).
As an Amazon Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases. Some of the other links on this site are also affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission if you love something as much as I do at no additional cost to you… but I only recommend what I actually like myself!

Items to Use to Style your Summer Shelves
Unique Vases and Bowls
There are a million and one types of vases and bowls out there nowadays and if I had a HUGE storage space in my house, I would probably have a heck of a lot more than I actually do.
Nonetheless, I still have my share of pretty vases and bowls on every set of shelves in my home ;).
While many of the vases/bowls in my collection are quite a few years old, I am always looking for new ones and have linked some similar styles below (or at least some I would love to add to my collection!).
In fact, my most favorite large vase is on sale this week! That one stays out year round for sure (not pictured on the shelves below though fyi).
Books
In 2018, my husband and I took our first big far away from home trip without our kids to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary ;).
We went to Prague, Austria, and Switzerland and kept running into all these quaint markets with so many old books (none in English of course but still…). We decided to buy a few to decorate the shelves in our bedroom and remember our incredible 25th anniversary trip.
While we don’t do this on every trip we have taken since then (especially because we didn’t even leave our house for two years shortly after that trip thanks to the lovely pandemic) – we have done it a handful of times. And those books on our bedroom built in shelves are our favorite “decor” books ;).
Of course, I have PLENTY of your typical coffee table books on all my built in shelves as well…
Fun Decor Objects
This is where you can have the most fun when you style your summer shelves ;).
There are so many unique and creative decorative objects available nowadays (in fact one of my most favorite places to get decor objects is having a huge sale this weekend!).
I hope you found a little bit of inspiration and/or help in finding ideas to style your summer shelves. Like I said earlier, I used to find shelf styling to be overwhelming but over the years on Instagram have found shelves to be a very fun place to show your decor style ;).
Don’t forget to scroll to the bottom to see what all the other 30+ bloggers shared in their summer homes this week especially Lynne from My Family Thyme’s patriotic summer ideas!
