Holy cow – it’s almost time! I have been scouring the web to find some incredible items to get you excited to decorate for the holidays (and soon!)…
Do I sound shocked that it is almost here?
I mean really – doesn’t it seem like just yesterday we were talking about graduations and summer plans?
I have loved scrolling through all my favorite websites to find some fabulous items for this coming season.
Every year I focus on one space to look for new items for. Last year it was our Christmas bedrooms – read more about that here.
And this year, I am doing a new look on my Christmas front porch ;).
Truth be told, I had my old front porch garland for around 7 years and last year it looked pretty straggly with faded red balls. So I knew I would be on the hunt for new front porch ideas.
See what I mean with those red balls having a rather sad vintage vibe to them?
Anyway back to the scrolling the web: I found what I was looking for ;).
Now obviously I have not set any of my new items up on the porch yet – I can be patient enough to wait until the day after Halloween 😂.
So some of the photos are literally the items just sitting in my garage waiting patiently ;).
I have also joined some fabulous blogging friends of mine that also have some early holiday season ideas to share with you so be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post to see some more great ideas!
If you are coming here from my talented and sweet friend Kim from Cottage in the Mitten, what did you think of her Pottery Barn dupe of that tartan plaid photo frame??? She is seriously one of my favorite blogging friends and always has such creative ideas to share ;).
As an Amazon Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases. Some of the other links on this site are also affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission if you love something as much as I do at no additional cost to you… but I only recommend what I actually like myself!

In a rush?
Early Holiday Season Items I Love
This Garland and Wreath
It was a real struggle to decide whether to keep my red color scheme from years past on the front porch or to try something new.
But in the end, I went with trying a new color scheme with a frosted garland that has silver and gold balls on it :). Please excuse my stained garage floor in the photo below – oh and the fact that I have not unwrapped some of the balls on the garland yet. Remember it is only mid-October ;0.
I am not a fan of battery operated lights on the front porch (probably because I have my Christmas lights on from about 4:30pm every night until 12 midnight and those batteries really don’t make it that long for that habit!).
So I will be adding my own plug in string lights to the above garland…
I will also be putting the matching 28″ wreath on my front door.
These Stacked Ornaments
In my search for what to use with the new color scheme for the front porch, I found these super festive stacked ornament balls!!
I am going to place them in front of each of my front porch posts where the above garland will be hanging and I cannot wait to see how well they will complement each other!
I also bought this interesting new “sand filler” product made specifically for weighing down outdoor items. I’m thinking maybe I should do an Instagram story when I learn how to use it while filling the bottom ornament in this stack ;).
This Doormat
Keeping with the gold and silver theme, I have been doing one heck of a serious hunt for a holiday doormat that will look good with the above items.
While I found a few that would work well, I ultimately decided to go with this one:
Here are the other options I was looking at (did you know there are A LOT of holiday doormats out there???!)
Other Items I Love Worth Mentioning
I will still be using my old sled and ice skates on my porch because well – I love them! See my post for all the details on last year’s front porch!
However an Instagram favorite last year really was these garland ties that I have used on my stairs for the last few years AND LOVE!!
They sell out every year so that is why I am reminding you about them (in case you weren’t here last year to grab yours!).
I hope these items were helpful to you to get you excited to decorate for the holidays – at least as much as I am! It’s such a festive and pretty time of year – I cannot wait to see everyone’s dolled up houses ;).
Don’t forget to go take a peek at the seasonal beverage station that Marty from A Stroll Through Life is sharing – now that is something I need inspiration on with all these upcoming gatherings I have planned!
