Get inspired with simple and easy Fourth of July party decor ideas perfect for a fun, relaxed celebration with friends and family.

Being honest with you, by the time Fourth of July rolls around, I’m in the mood for an easy get-together that doesn’t involve anyone spending the whole day sweating over a grill or frantically running to the store for last-minute decorations.
And in order to keep it easy and festive, you really just need the right touches to make it feel special without going over the top: a table with a few red, white, and blue pops, easy snacks, chilled drinks, and lots of laughter.
My husband and I have been hosting a Fourth of July party for as long as I can remember, and truthfully, I have always made sure to keep it stress free (my anniversary is the day before after all!).
Hopefully my ideas and tips below will help you keep your festivities the same :).
FYI – my #1 tip for this celebration? MAKE IT A POTLUCK (which is what we have done every single year and it works out fabulously :))!

Fourth of July Party Ideas

Over the Table Rod
One of my favorite easy tricks for adding a festive touch to almost every event I host is using an over-the-table rod — it’s simple to put up, and suddenly you’ve got the perfect place to hang some red, white, and blue.
Last year I used a greenery garland with this garland set.

And in 2023, I used three star garlands from Nivas Collection on my over the table rod ~ I will be using two chambray blue and one white star garlands for my 2025 table :).

It adds such a fun little flair above your table without much effort at all, and it instantly makes your whole setup feel more pulled together!

Simple Table Decor
For a fun and festive touch, I draped some firework string lights with an easy paper table runner and some scattered star chocolates on my kitchen table which we use as the dessert table ~ super simple, but it made everything feel extra Fourth-of-July special without a ton of fuss.
Another option are these fun patriotic tootsie rolls (always a party favorite!!).

A second table decor option is to put a stovetop hat over a glass vase filled with star vase fillers like I did here.

I always keep my outdoor table decor extremely simple and low (so that people can easily see each other over anything in the middle of the table :)).

Americana Paper Goods
Napkins are the easiest way to add a festive pop without trying too hard.

Easy Dessert Treats
You know I’m all about keeping things simple, so for the Fourth, I love setting out a tray of chocolate chip cookies (Nestle Toll House recipe of course!) that I usually make that morning and a variety of red, white, and blue candy options :).

Festive Drink Area
Set up a fun little festive drink station with red, white, and blue cups, maybe a signature cocktail (or mocktail!) and let everyone help themselves—because honestly, no one wants to play bartender all day!
My favorite summer mixer is the peach flavored Summer in a Cup for which I use frozen peach slices instead of ice cubes ;0.

And don’t forget the festive straws!
