Cheers to a New Year’s Eve to remember! It’s time to gather your friends and countdown the clock to the new year…
I am pretty much in disbelief that New Year’s Eve is this Friday!! And don’t even get me started on how fast the entire month of December has felt – do you agree???
One of my family’s most favorite NYE “objects” is a DIY NYE ball that my husband made about FIFTEEN years ago! AND WE STILL USE IT!
However, I must add here that my husband currently has about 5-10 Amazon boxes sitting unopened in his office with the plans to finally improve said NYE ball…
I will let you know how that turns out ;).
But for now – enjoy these photos of our ball from past New Year’s Eves (not 2020 tho – there was no “ball party” last year 😭).
And this was our ball situation on Dec 31st, 2018:

What I Use For a New Year’s Eve to Remember
Lenox Dinnerware and Glasses
I was lucky enough to work with Lenox this holiday season to make a gorgeous tablescape.
I chose simple gold and white items to have a more elegant look than what I have gone for in the past.
And needless to say – I am in love!
When I put this table photo on my Instagram account – I had so many of you tell me you have the same holiday plates! Certainly a classic ;).
Silver and Gold Centerpiece Items
For the last three years, I have been using all silver and gold items for my dining room centerpieces.
Obviously, being that Christmas is over, most of these items are long gone or at least packed away at the stores to be brought out for purchase next October.
That said – I have between 5-8 of these faceted mirror trees all around my house ;).
They make an appearance every year at Pottery Barn and are actually on clearance TODAY!!
Now is the perfect time to get great deals on all things silver and gold.
And actually, today I started thinking about what I will be decorating my house with after NYE – and I am kinda thinking some of the silver, gold, and white items around my house will be sticking around until February ;).
The silver tray is currently unavailable as well (shocker…) however Pottery Barn has a somewhat similar one (albeit skinnier) currently available…
New Year’s Eve Balloons
As you may have noticed above, I had a few years where we got the huge numbered balloons for our NYE celebrations.
That was a task I asked my youngest daughter to take care of for those few years.
But now that she is not around during NYE day to help me setup – I have found the foil blow up yourself balloons to be much easier to use!
You can get them in many different colors – I used gold the first year I went that route and for the last three years have been using silver.
Personally – I like the pretty look of the silver better ;).
It’s funny to look at an old photo and realize OMG I have made A LOT of changes to this space over the years!!
New Year’s Eve Light Up Numbers
And new to my NYE celebration this year is these fun light up marquee numbers!
They are quite reasonably priced and I realized since it is the early years of this decade – I will only need to change the last number each year and can reuse the 202 for 7 more years!!
I hope my post on how to have a New Year’s Eve to remember gave you some fun and inspiring ideas on how to make your space festive for the holiday!
Whether you are spending the evening with one, two, or many of your loved ones, dressing up the gathering space always makes it feel extra special.
The new year brings with it a renewed sense of hope full of things that have never been before.
New beginnings and fresh starts.
Let’s all start this next chapter in the books of our lives with cheer and kindness (and hopefully surrounded with lots of love!).
