Looking for how to set the perfect Friendsgiving table? I haven’t lived close to my mom and two sisters the entire time I have been married. So my holiday celebrations have always included friends that are dear to me – including Thanksgiving ;).
If you have been around for a while, you know that in 2020 we moved our Thanksgiving celebrations outside because of the pandemic. And kept them there ;).
And like I mentioned above our festivities involve friends that are like family to us.
Which makes our Thanksgiving also our Friendsgiving :).
You can read about how I decorated my 2021 Friendsgiving table here.
This post is part of a group of blogging friends all sharing their Friendsgiving inspiration.
If you are new here from my friend Kylie at Truemans Treasures – welcome! I hope you feel inspired with what you find here at Pasha is Home.
You can read a little bit more about me on the “About Me” page :).
Thanksgiving has always been one of my mom’s favorite holidays. For the first sixteen years of my marriage even, we would spend it at her house in WIsconsin.
But as my kids got older and their extracurricular activities got more demanding, we started staying home here in San Diego for the holiday.
I make all of my family’s recipes in order to recreate the festivities we had together all those years ;).
But my favorites are the mashed potatoes and stuffing ;).

How to Set the Perfect Friendsgiving Table
Centerpieces
If you have read any of my other tablescape post, you know I try to keep my centerpieces quite simple.
For this year’s Friendsgiving tablescape, I started with one Urban Stems fall bouquet as my main centerpiece.
Then I added a cute woven turkey and flameless pumpkin to the middle of the table.
And two pretty battery powered leaf light strands ;).
Because my outdoor table is 12 feet long, I always put two more sets of decorative items on both ends of the table.
So for this year’s Friendsgiving, the ends of the table each have a tall wooden pumpkin that I have mentioned in many of my other home posts including my fall entryway post.
The small turkeys were purchased many many many years ago at Pottery Barn however here is a more recent alternative for you to the ones I have on my table 🦃.
If you are familiar with the rule of three when decorating your home, you will notice I added the real mini white pumpkin as my third item for the side centerpieces.
And if you are unfamiliar with the rule of three – it is this:
The rule of three says that things arranged in odd numbers are more appealing, memorable, and effective than even-numbered groupings.
Lastly, I scattered gold pinecones and votive candle holders in between the centerpieces to fill in the empty spaces…
You may remember the above votive holders from my summer tablescape ;).
I purchased them this summer while in Grand Teton National Park with my family. The gold line is the outline of the Teton Mountain Range which is quite special to my family so I love having them on my tablescapes for most occasions.
Even if you don’t have a special connection to the Tetons – these ceramic votive holders are gorgeous and pretty anywhere in the house all year round!
Feel free to contact the owner of Jumping Jackalope Designs if you are interested in purchasing :).
Place Settings
I have a cabinet in my dining room where I keep all of my chargers.
But honestly, I only have a few colors in large quantities.
The collection includes copper, gold, silver, woven, and white chargers.
So when it comes time to set the perfect Friendsgiving table, the copper set comes out ;).
About five years ago, I decided to change my everyday dishes to be plain white.
This way, I can change the look of the place settings with accent plates and napkins (see below ☺️).
The wine glasses are from my wedding registry almost thirty years ago and surprisingly Lenox does not sell this style anymore but it is still one of my favorites for crystal!
But the gold silverware was a new addition to my place setting collection from last year and goes perfectly with the copper chargers.
The pumpkin accent plates are also from last year but not being sold this year however I have linked some alternatives for you below…
Linens
Keeping things simple so that I can use them throughout the year has been super helpful in not having too many items to store in my house that is severely lacking in storage space…
I don’t use tablecloths – never have actually. Something in me just likes to see the wood of the table I am sitting at ;).
That said – my table runner collection is also rather minimal and simple.
For my Friendsgiving table, I used this subtly striped runner but easily could switch it out for another favorite in my collection which is this one.
The thankful napkins above were a fun find late in the season last year and of course are not available this year (don’t you hate it when stores do that?!).
However I have linked some equally as festive and cute alternatives below for you ;).
Since my outdoor seating arrangement at my extra long table consists of two benches, I like to put cozy throws down on them so that they are not uncomfortable or cold for my guests.
I hope you found this post on how to set the perfect Friendsgiving table helpful while planning your festivities this year ;).
While obviously my ideas are for my outdoor table, you can just as easily do all of this to an indoor table.
I don’t know about you, but I am already excited about the mashed potatoes and stuffing!!
Also – if you are trying to stay organized for Thanksgiving, be sure to read my helpful post with my Thanksgiving prep timeline!! It truly has helped me stay organized and stress free for years now!
And FYI – my Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving table usually has about 15-20 loved ones gathered around it so keeping my hosting stress low by staying organized and just plain following my tried and true timeline has been crazy helpful!
