Here are my favorite ways on how to keep your Valentine’s Day decor minimal yet pretty. As well as plenty more inspiration from some of my favorite blogging friends!

My husband and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary this summer with a total of 36 years together 🤍. While we have never gone big for Valentine’s Day, I still appreciate this holiday and the meaning behind it.

Plus, thanks to Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec back in 2010, celebrating your gal pals on Galentine’s Day has become quite popular. I dare say even more popular than Valentine’s Day ;).

In fact, I have even started hosting a Galentine’s Day party with my book club friends (you can read all my tips on that party in my Galentine’s Day post!)

AND on top of having the above two reasons to celebrate with loved ones in February, decorating with pink hearts and roses makes your home so pretty!!

I keep my Valentine’s Day decor minimal. I actually only have one plastic storage box of pink decor (shocking I know!) but it is enough to make my home feel lovely ;).

In a rush?

In the Kitchen

In keeping with the minimal yet pretty, I just have a few heart items scattered about in the kitchen for the month of love ;).

This includes heart towels, heart spatulas, heart plates & mugs (you get the point!).

The heart plates below are a recent find that go perfectly with my neutral home and they have matching mugs too (I didn’t purchase those but they are just as cute as the plates!).

My Valentines spatulas are probably almost ten years old but every year a festive new style is available and if I didn’t control my spatula addiction, I would very likely have a dozen of them by now!

Here is the link to this year’s Valentine’s spatula. I also love the heart wooden spoon that I found last year and is still available this year ;).

The pink bowls on my open shelves are from a store who’s mission is quite respectable as a non-profit fair trade shop.

And the cute wooden hearts of from a friend of mine’s little shop called Rustic Occasions.

The marble heart spoon rest was a fun find I added to my simple heart collection this year ;).

The kitchen hood is one of the easiest places to decorate for any season and Valentine’s Day is no exception.

Valentine’s Day dish towels are probably the easiest way to add minimal and pretty decor for the season.

These are my favorites ;).

But I also like these neutral heart dish towels.

In Dining Spaces

My kitchen and dining room tables are ready for my Galentine’s Day party on February 11th (more on the dining room table in a separate blog post about hosting a Galentine’s Day party!).

But even if I wasn’t hosting a party, I love the way my over the table rod looks especially with the felt hearts hanging on it ;).

The felt hearts are currently not available however the white heart garland can be used as is or taken apart and each individual heart put on strings to hang.

Here is a link to a similar greenery garland that I used zip ties to attach to the rod.

I also leave the greenery attached to the rod when I store it because while I change the decor hanging from the rod depending on the holiday I am using it for, I like the look of the greenery for each use.

In Other Spaces in the House

The last place I have put a minimal amount of Valentine’s Day decor is in my family room (which is basically also part of the same space in my house that my kitchen is!).

I found these straw XO vase fillers at Target last year and of course they are no longer available…

However Target did have some cute corn husk hearts this year to use ;).

Another option is to buy my favorite XO garland or even the new mini version and cut it up to use in a vase or other places around the house.

The one I use above my kitchen hood has indeed been shortened to fit that space ;).

The large white vase above is a staple decor item in my house. It was an investment but without a doubt is my most favorite vase I own!!

I placed the XO’s in this new footed speckled vase.
