So simple and neutral fall decor is right up my alley this season.

And if you are here reading this post – that makes me believe it is the look you are going for too ;).

Being that it is already September, a lot of the new specific to fall decor items are already sold out (UGH!).

But all isn’t completely hopeless – there is a decent amount still available :).

Or you can wander your home and find items that can be used for simple fall decor (and maybe even throughout the year!).

Choose 2-3 Main Colors to Focus On

Fall decor is all about colors, textures, and just plain getting that cozy, stay at home feeling.

The colors I am focusing on this year for my fall decor are gold, ivory, and yellow.

I still have plenty of oranges and burgundies from years past decor.

But this year, I bought some new items (or spray painted old items) to incorporate more golds and whites into my simple and neutral fall decor theme.

Target had a few fun neutral vases this season that I know I can use all year round so I grabbed those up…

Purchase Items That Can Be Reused Every Season

As I indicated above, I got that neutral vase from Target this year because I know I can use it all year round.

I also have a few decor staples in my home that I have collected over the last 5-10 years that are still in style and again usable all year long.

I bought this gold hurricane a few years ago and use it for fall, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day decor.

It is one of my most favorite items to use for the seasons.

So when you are out browsing – look for those items you know you can use for multiple seasons.

Or better yet – see if you already have something in your home that you can use!!

Include Textures in your Neutral Fall Decor

Okay – I surely hope I am not the only one that keeps throw blankets EVERYWHERE in my home!!!

Even if you aren’t using them to cozy up with – do you realize how inexpensive and easy a decor item throw blankets are???

Plus fall and Christmas are when ALL THE GOOD ONES COME OUT!

I keep thinking I don’t need any more throws, and then I see another gorgeous one that I have to have – like this one that I just bought two of 🤪.

Think Cozy and Welcoming

Okay – well this has kind of already been said but I couldn’t resist making it it’s very own topic.

People have been telling me for my entire home owning life that I have one of the coziest, most welcoming houses they have entered.

It’s because I don’t go for model or magazine home pretty.

I go for cozy.

And I just love walking in the door to my own home every day knowing how comfortable it is ;).

Continue your Chosen Color Scheme Throughout the House

My lighten and brighten neutral decor obsession has been going strong for almost two years now.

Meaning – for the last two years, I have been spray painting faux apples and pumpkins white and gold.

And currently snagging up all the new neutral fall florals I have seen (and liked!).

My fall pillow covers are a few years old but surprisingly were available again this year (and we all know stores are trying not to do that for us year after year lately 😏).

Who knows though – by the time I publish this post – everything might be sold out…

If you follow any content creators on Instagram, you now know this is why we tell you to think ahead for fall in JULY! Hopefully you listened!!

Reminds me of when my kids were little and Disney would only release movies for sale for two months at a time to create a frenzy and high demand… guess that’s a marketing ploy that we are all still victims of 😂.

These simple tips helped me transform my summer/everyday home into a cozy and welcoming fall home.
