Pancakes with Pasha – January 2023

January 14, 2023

It’s time for Pancakes with Pasha – January 2023 edition ;). I hope your 2022 ended with happy memories and that 2023 is off to a wonderful start!

While California seems to be making up for the lack of rainfall the last few years (ie – we have been getting A LOT of rain lately!), 2023 seems to be off to a good start otherwise ;).

We will be getting our house tented for termites next week but have decided to make lemonade out of lemons and head to the mountains while we don’t have access to our house ;0.

Seems the constant rainfall has created epic conditions at our California ski resorts ;).

But first a quick reminder of WHY I am calling this series ‘Pancakes with Pasha’ in case you have forgotten or are new here ;0!

I am NOT A COFFEE OR TEA DRINKER.

One night last year, I was laying in bed, desperately trying to figure out a catchy title for this series.

And my brain was like – when I ask friends to meet in the morning, what am I asking them to do?

You can bet your bottom dollar I am thinking about where can we meet for pancakes 😂.

So there it is – Pancakes with Pasha popped into my head ;).

In a rush?

What I’m Currently Planning

It’s hard to believe it’s time for Galentine’s Day again!!

I would say this is one of my favorite parties to throw but if you’ve been around for a while, you know I love all parties 😂.

I will be writing a blog post in the next week or two with things I did for my 2022 Galentine’s Day party (the above link has information from my 2021 Galentine’s Day party ;)).

I will probably not change much regarding the table and place settings from last year’s party. But I do need to figure out what my gift will be for the “Favorite Things” exchange part of the party 🤔.

My husband and I will be going to Finland at the end of next month to celebrate his birthday and I have a few more things on my to do list to check off for this adventure! As well as shopping for some seriously WARM clothes to wear while we are in the Arctic Circle ;).

Of course I will be sharing travel guides for this trip (once we get back). But in the meantime, be sure to follow along on Instagram to get inspired enough to put this quite northern country on your bucket list ;).

Need a Book to Read?

My book club just met on Friday (the 13th at that!) to discuss the book Gentleman in Moscow.

While we all agreed, the book had a decent amount of details that made it hard to read at the start, once you got through that – it is truly a great book. Totally deserves to be on the bestseller lists that it is :).

While we don’t actually have a book picked for February because of our Galentine’s Day party, while on my trip to England last month, I read and thoroughly enjoyed The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot.

And now I am currently reading the bestseller Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. I am at the point in the book where it is getting harder to put down but will let you know more in the next Pancakes for Pasha edition for sure!

My problem is I have recently decided to watch (binge more accurately) the show Game of Thrones. So now I have to decide whether to watch GOT or read in my free time… tough choice for sure!

Items I Am Shopping For & Think You Might Like Too

I have been using the same REI rolling duffel when I travel for over 15 years!!! While it has served me well, before my youngest daughter and I went to England last month, she asked if we could get some new rolling suitcases.

I figured why not? However I was under a little bit of a time constraint being that we were leaving in about a week for our trip. I did my due diligence to find a quality suitcase that would actually work with my notorious overpacking habit plus be Amazon Prime and this is the one I found.

Quite recently I was given the opportunity to work with Monos Luggage. I plan on using my new products on my Finland trip next month but have been doing a bit of a comparison between the two large check in suitcases I now own :). I will keep you posted on which one I prefer in the end!

Now that the holidays are over, I have been adding to my coffee table book collection with some perfectly themed winter books ;).

The Latest on My Blog That Might Inspire You

As I have mentioned earlier (and posted on Instagram about), my youngest daughter and I spent two weeks in England in December exploring London, Bath, The Cotswolds, and York and enjoying what each had to offer!

It even snowed while we were in the country (we have been told that doesn’t happen often in December) which made the Christmas markets at each stop even more beautiful and festive ;).

I just published the first travel guide for that trip on Bath in hopes you have that destination on your own bucket list. And if you don’t – YOU SHOULD!!

With that trip plus the holidays right after we came home, I really haven’t had much time to devote to writing on the blog!

But clearly, I still have travel guides for The Cotwolds, York, and another London post on my calendar. As well as the above mentioned Galentine’s Day party planning post ;).

So basically – stay tuned!!

I hope something in this Pancakes with Pasha January 2023 post was of interest to you – whether it be any of the books I suggested or one of my recent home/fashion faves ;).
