Simple and Minimal Spring Decor

March 25, 2021

It’s actually springtime again already- are you as surprised as I am at how fast this past year has gone? My favorite part of spring decor is the light airiness about it. In my 20’s I was not a huge fan of pastels – especially pinks. But as I have gotten older – they have become more and more my favorite shades of color!

Interesting right?

I hope to inspire you to put some simple and minimal spring decor in your home these next few months… I know it has brightened my mood to do so!

I am so excited to be joining an amazing group of bloggers to share our spring homes with all of you. If you are popping over from Aratari at Home’s blog – welcome and thank you for coming! If you would like to know more about me and my blog – be sure to check out my about me page!

I also send out really awesome emails every week or two with subscriber only information and occasional giveaways so be sure to subscribe to the blog for those fun items! Be sure to check out the rest of the bloggers spring home tours at the bottom of this post!

Now on to the spring decor inspo:

Here are a few of the items I have used this year for my spring decor:

  • Faux tulips
  • Ceramic bunnies in all sizes
  • Cute mini wooden bunnies
  • Green moss spheres
  • Fabric covered decorative books
  • Spring hand soaps

Faux Tulips

Over the last few years, I have amassed quite the sizable collection of faux tulips. Two years ago, I excitedly bought a few dozen blush tulips and now this year I have added white tulips to my assortment.

There are soooo many ways to use this simple flower in your home during springtime.

Here are a few of the places I have added faux tulips:

Flopped over in a basked with a simple white cotton napkin on my kitchen table

In a simple flower pot that I found at one of my favorite local home shops!

Simple tip for getting them to lay naturally in a wide top flower pot – bend the stems to take up more space in the pot so that it forces the flowers to stay in place. Also – make sure to bend some of the flowers over the edges to give that more natural look that fresh tulips have…

Crocks are one of my favorite vessels to use around the house! They can be used for anything – or even just sit by themselves as the actual decor. I find most of mine on Etsy at Vintage North 44. I honestly just threw this bundle of tulips in this no. 2 crock just to get them off my kitchen table and stood back and was like – well look at that! 😂 🌷

Ceramic and Wooden Bunnies

I saw these bunnies on the Pottery Barn website in early spring 2020 and knew I had to have them. What shocked me the most was that Pottery Barn did not bring them back this year – besides the tulips – they are honestly one of my favorite Easter decor items…

I will keep an eye out for them elsewhere for you – stay tuned!

In the meantime – here is a little more modern version of the ones I have!

The mini ceramic bunnies were added to my Easter decor last year – I bought almost a dozen of them to put randomly around the house (and on the Easter brunch table on Easter morning!).

One of my favorite Etsy shops is Rustic Occasion which is where I found those cute wooden bunny cutouts! She makes the most fun wooden cutouts for almost every holiday!

How fun are these wooden bunnies on stands? I got mine at Antique Farmhouse (and if any of you have shopped there before – you know its one of those buy it when you see it websites 😬) – however I found very similar ones here for you!!

Green Moss Balls

These are actually one of the most handy items all year long! You can buy them in all different sizes too!

One of the places I have used my moss balls besides in the big vase in my dining room built in above is my kitchen island:

This large ceramic bowl on my kitchen island is a brand new favorite piece of mine! It is sooo versatile… in fact I actually bought it to hold my Christmas tree trunk decor (and in case you don’t know what I am talking about – you can check it out in this post!).

Ever heard the saying – you pick and choose your battles? Well being that my husband’s favorite pasttime is playing guitar – he has been on my case for years for not having musical equipment integrated into my home decor.

This old guitar was bought when we were newylweds in grad school for $20 (all our cash back then) and as you can see has gone on all of our family road trips over the last 25 years… you could say the sticker guitar has become a family yearbook so it was only fitting that I said that’s the guitar I would allow into my home decor world ;).

Also – if you are looking for road trip/national park ideas for this spring or summer – be sure to check out my post highlighting four of them!

Fabric Covered Books

Another favorite Etsy shop that is a go to for me for pretty fabric covered books is The House of Elements… she makes such high quality and pretty books. Absolutely worth checking out!

This is my current family room mantel decor – I just love how simple and minimalist it is!

I found this old side table at my favorite San Diego vintage finds shop called Architectural Salvage and chalk painted it white (of course).

And these blue fabric books from The House of Elements are the perfect simple decorative addition to the landing on my staircase :).

Seasonal Soaps

Pretty sure there is nothing more simple or minimal than changing out your soaps each season..

And yet this is one of my favorite things to do! For my kitchen soaps – I always buy the cute sets from Williams Sonoma and my bathroom soaps are always the delicious scented ones from Bath and Body Works.

I found these cute bunny towels on clearance at Williams Sonoma last summer – and totally forgot that I had them until I finally went through my Easter decor box last weekend!! 🐰
