I love Fourth of July. I have since college. Heck – maybe even before that π€·ββοΈ.
I just remember coordinating the plans for the holiday for our college gang and loving it πΊπΈ.
My husband and I even got married 4th of July weekend! July 3rd will be our 28th wedding anniversary πΊπΈ. Wow – that went fast!!! I am tempted to write a blog post about how we made it this far… what do you guys think???
I picked that wedding date because all I wanted was to make sure everyone at our reception had a fun time (and I am pretty sure everyone did!).
We were young when we got married – and I chose the colors red, white and blue as my wedding theme. Kinda don’t think I would do that again if given a do-over – maybe blush this time around?? Or is that too trendy??
If you want to know more about me – check out my about me page!!
Did you think I was kidding about the red, white, and blue??? π – FYI this photo is my sisters (who were both my maid and maiden of honor), my mom, and me β€οΈ.
Silly wedding color choices aside – I still love the holiday and this year have been decorating my home with simple and neutral patriotic decor!
Be sure to pin the image below to save this post for inspiration in festively decorating your home!
Here are Some of My Favorite Patriotic Decor Items:
Neutral Flags
O.M.G. I originally found these flags ACCIDENTALLY via an Instagram friend named Something Gray.
She has THE CUTEST shop with holiday and everyday decor!!!
I have her neutral flags in many areas of my house. The above photo is my faux mantel in my living room π.
And I may or may not have just placed an order for ten more to decorate my outdoor table for the 4th of July BBQ we are hosting π€·ββοΈ.
Sea Glass
I find blue sea glass to be so prettyI It goes perfectly with my neutral flags on my kitchen table too!
Americana Books
If you follow my blog or even my Instagram account, you know I love American History and US National Parks! Have you read any of my national park vacation post suggestions yet?? You can read about Grand Teton NP or Zion NP by clicking on the links!
I have found some great books that are perfect to use for my patriotic decor.
And yes – I also have MORE of Loren’s neutral flags on my front entryway console table πΊπΈ.
Here is the link to this America the Beautiful book and the National Parks book ;)!
Jean Jackets and Cowboy Hats
I mean really – don’t both of those items scream America???? Think Bruce Springsteen and Montana (and yes I know Bruce is from Jersey – NOT Montana!) and use them where you can for patriotic decor!!
Want to know something fun about the cowboy hat in the pic above???
My little sister got married July 5th (15 years after me!) in Grand Teton National Park and gave everyone in her wedding party those hats! Which means my husband and I both got cowboy hats from my little sis for her wedding :).
AND – my husband and I even renewed our wedding vows wearing those hats!! I tried to find a photo of it for you guys but of course – they are now no where to be found π.
That cute banner flag is also from the small shop Something Gray (did I mention how much I love the items in her shop??!!).
Patriotic Kitchen Items
My kitchen is where I have the most patriotic decor – from red, white, and blue dish towels and pitchers to patriotic spatulas.
I actually make sure to have festive spatulas and dish towels for every season/holiday – have you started this tradition yet? It is simple and yet so cheery to have these items in the room you use the most!
These Williams Sonoma spatulas are already sold out but I found some cute ones at Michaels for you!
My all time favorite Williams Sonoma dish towels can be found in patriotic colors this year!! YAY! I just ordered them this week so hopefully they will be here shortly!
More fun kitchen items (and yup – that cute Scrabble letters freedom decor is from Something Gray π).
The white tray and the red, white, and blue beads are from one of my favorite Etsy shops called Minty Salvage.
When I was engaged, my little sister gave me a fun little patriotic decor item for the last six month of my engagement (remember the 4th of July wedding theme??). I have all the items she gave me and love taking them out every year and remembering what a great maid of honor idea she had (and she’s a pretty good lil sis too π)! The rocking Uncle Sam is one of those fun items πΊπΈ.
Anything USA!!
When I went to get the link to my friend Aimee’s Etsy shop called Rustic Occasions – I realized she’s doing a restock this coming weekend!
She makes THE CUTEST wooden cut outs for all the holidays!! I have items from her for Valentine’s Day, Easter, this USA cutout, and Christmas!
You can also find her on Instagram to see some of her fun wooden items ;).
I hope this post gave you plenty of ideas for some simple and neutral patriotic decor! It is such a fun holiday to decorate for and it can be so easy to add touches all around your home!
Stay tuned for my outdoor spaces patriotic decor post coming soon!!
